Employees
People are Siekmann Econosto’s most valuable asset. It is the employees who have made SE what it is today. Their expertise, qualifications and commitment are the foundation for our future success.

If we want to remain competitive, we have to continually attract and retain the very best and most skilled employees, and promote young talent.

What our employees say about Siekmann Econosto

Maximilian Tielking
– Head of Order Processing / Expediting / QMB

“Starting with my first holiday jobs, Siekmann Econosto offered me the chance to combine theory and practice at an early stage by means of a dual study programme and to be integrated into the company.
The global supplier portfolio, including partnership relationships on the one hand, and international EPCs and plant manufacturers on the other, offer exciting and diverse development opportunities. However, Siekmann Econosto is also manageable enough so that as an employee you are not just a cog in the system. Every individual counts.
Short decision-making processes, flat hierarchies and a hands-on mentality characterise SE’s dynamic working environment, which I would like to continue to identify with.“

Kim Guthmann
– Head of Accounting / HR

“I particularly like the fact that flat hierarchies are practised and that contact is maintained with everyone personally. All employees at Siekmann Econosto are given the opportunity to develop and take on responsibility. I have also had this experience – starting with a commercial apprenticeship, continuing with a dual study programme and ending with my current position. That’s why I’m happy to be part of the Siekmann Econosto team.“

Matthias Wiegand
– Head of Controlling

In 2005, I began my training at Siekmann, followed by a dual study program in economics at the FOM. As Head of Controlling, Siekmann offers me a broad spectrum.

The fact that Siekmann is part of the ERIKS/SHV Group makes working as a controller very multifaceted and challenging.

“In practice, people with the title of controller have functions that are, at one extreme, little more than bookkeeping and, at the other extreme, de facto general management” (Anthony 1965).

Siekmann is a healthy company that understands how to make money and how to secure its source of income. Because that’s what matters.

It makes you proud that you can help shape the success of the company and that Siekmann’s management always has an open ear for its employees.

Econosto as an employer

As an employer of choice, we motivate our diverse, dedicated employees with a high-performance culture. We encourage them to engage in lifelong learning and professional development, offer them an attractive working environment and ensure occupational safety and health protection. We are firmly convinced that committed employees are key to the success of the company. Since 2008, our annual staff appraisals in all departments have served as an important management tool for assessing employee satisfaction and individual development opportunities.

We provide training for our employees to master the challenges of the project business.
For example, two young talents are currently completing a dual/part-time study programme financed by SE.

DIVERSITY

Our company is characterised by respect, inclusivity and diversity.

In May 2017, SE signed the Diversity Charter for Companies in Germany. The “Charta der Vielfalt” is a corporate initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. The German Chancellor Dr Angela Merkel is the patron. The Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration is backing the initiative. The Diversity Charter has the objective of advancing the recognition, appreciation and embedding of diversity in the world of work in Germany. Organisations are expected to create a working environment that is free from prejudice. All employees must be valued – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or worldview, physical ability, age, sexual orientation and identity. The Diversity Charter was launched by four companies in December 2006. More than 3,300 companies and institutions with a total of 13.1 million employees have already signed the Charter and new signatories are constantly being added.

At SE everyone has a variety of options open to them and everyone is treated fairly, even in difficult times. We have flat hierarchies, we encourage individual input and we respect different ways of thinking. Currently, the most important employee-related topics are: (1) Recruiting and developing talent, (2) Learning, management development and vocational training, (3) Occupational health & safety management and (4) Diversity.
